Wine Autumn is a themed gourmet walk around Salgesch: from the station, through varied landscapes, past shady spots and viewpoints, from stop to stop through the year of the vine, and back to the heart of the village, where everyone meets once more. The start is partly in time slots, for a calm, high-quality experience. Wine, music and encounters, carried by the whole village.

Getting here

Salgesch lies in Valais between Sierre and Leuk. Reachable by train from Visp or Sion in under 20 minutes. We recommend public transport, parking in the village is limited.

What is the Weinherbst?+

The Weinherbst is a one-day gourmet walk around Salgesch in Valais. Over roughly 7 kilometres the route leads from the station through the vineyards to twelve+ themed stops with wine, food and music, ending with a shared finale in the village centre. First edition: 5 September 2026, ticket CHF 89.

When and where?+

Saturday, 5 September 2026. Start at Salgesch station in staggered time slots for an individual start. Finish in the village centre, where everyone meets once more.

Start times?+

Start: from 10:00 in time slots, winding down until approx. 22:00.

How long is the walk?+

Around 7 kilometres, from Salgesch station through the vineyards back to the village centre.

How long does the day take?+

You go at your own pace. Sporty groups are out for about 3.5 hours, longer with more time at the stops. Start from 10:00.

Who is the walk suitable for?+

You should be steady on your feet, but you don't need to be sporty. The paths through the vineyards are uneven, so we recommend sturdy shoes. Doable for pleasure-seekers with normal fitness and for families in principle; only partly suitable for prams or limited mobility. If you have questions about suitability, get in touch in advance.

For pleasure-loving guests, couples, groups of friends and especially team, club and company outings.

Tasting at all twelve+ stops, regional cuisine, music and entertainment, as well as the shared finale in the village.

How does the day work?+

Twelve+ stops around Salgesch, with time to savour in between. Beyond the twelve monthly stops come three surprises plus the shared start and convivial finale. The detailed programme will follow.
